2018 Riesling, Willamette Valley (Library)
This wine was produced by soaking the grape skins in the juice for several hours prior to pressing to extract aromas from the skins that will (later) increase the aromatics of the wine. Once the juice was pressed it was moved into neutral oak barrels for fermentation. Fermentation in oak barrels and aging on the lees helps to develop fruit character and a round mouthfeel in the wine. While the wine production and vineyard source is the same as our 2017 Riesling, the 2018 Riesling has more acid (due to the growing season) and presents more minerality than in 2017.
Tasting Notes
