2015 Pinot Noir, Yamhill-Carlton (Estate) (Library)
The 2015 Pinot Noir is from the first vintage from our estate. The growing season was exceptionally hot and dry, producing a concentrated, dark and bold Pinot Noir. The wine expresses dark fruit character with powerful tannins. Half of the wine was aging in new French oak barrels, which contributes to the toasty caramel notes and lingering chewy finish.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of dark fruit, blackberry, blueberry, allspice, anise, and caramel. Flavors of ripe black plum, coffee, dark chocolate, and baking spice blend seamlessly together for this altogether unique full bodied Pinot Noir.
Food Pairings
Rich dark meats such as duck, smoky beef ribs, pulled pork and steak. The wine also pairs with bleu cheese, braised root vegetables and greens.
