Old Wagon Road Vineyard

Old Wagon Road Vineyard is the estate vineyard for Chris James Cellars, a family owned and operated vineyard and winery that produces unique and interesting wines in Carlton, Oregon. The vineyard is located on the western edge of Yamhill-Carlton AVA, in the foothills of the coastal range. It is now 25 acres with 16 varietals planted.

The vineyard was first planted in early 2013 with additional plantings each year through 2019, and again in 2021. A diverse selection of grape varietals were chosen to produce estate wines that are new and interesting as well as classic to the region. The varietals include Pinot Noir (Pommard, 777, 828 and Wadensville clones), Sauvignon Blanc, Dolcetto, Lagrein, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, Scheurebe, Huxelrebe, Schioppettino, Nebiolo, Teroldego, Barbera, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Albarino. The blocks are planted on slopes with Eastern, Western and Southern aspects.

While we produce wines using much of the fruit from our vineyard, we also sell fruit to other local wineries. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in purchasing fruit.
